Background

Hector is a Balanced Scorecard Practitioner and a co-founder of MK Training with over 10 years’ experience in Strategic Management. Over the past decade Hector has occupied several management roles in both the private and public sector organisations including being the Chief Executive Officer for a business management consultancy for a period of 5 years. The roles Hector previously occupied involved the development and implementation of functional systems geared towards tracking organisational performance and productivity. 

Over an extended period, Hector acquired a value-based approach to create strategic partnerships at both lower and senior management levels to improve business performance in organisations. He has worked extensively in cross-functional teams with reputable organisations and understand the dynamics of working in diverse groups and teams.

Hector played a pivotal role in the development and implementation of the employee Performance Management Systems which helped numerous organisations to, inter alia, inculcate a performance culture by developing and communicating organisational strategic imperatives. He has also been intimately involved in the development and implementation of Change and Transformation Management interventions for various organisations to embrace the organisational renewal programmes.

Morné is a founding member and certified member of the Global John Maxwell Team of Leadership Development Speakers, Trainers, and Coaches. Morné facilitated several Leadership Development and Executive Coaching programs since 2021, he has been involved in Leadership Development and Coaching programme for first line managers within the Mining Sector.

Morné played a key role in the roll-out of the Framework for the development of Strategic Plans (SPs) and Annual Performance plans (APPs) (the 2010 version) as trainer for all planners in National and Provincial Government. Morné facilitated more than 15 training sessions across all Provinces on how departments and entities should develop their SPs and APPs documents. Since the Revised Framework for development for Strategic Plans and Annual Performance Plans (2019) both Morné and Hector have developed numerous SPs and APPs compliant with the revised Framework. 

Morné completed a pilot project for the Department of Public Works for the development of Implementation Plans. These plans were based on Guideline 2.2.3 issued by the Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation wherein the Root-Cause Analysis, Theory of Change, the development of Logframe and performance measures linked to impact, and outcomes were key elements of the assignments. These were underpinned by a rigorous Project Management, Costing and Budgeting, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Risk Management.

Morné and Hector have vast experience in Strategic and Business Planning within all spheres of government, including government entities. They have facilitated numerous strategic workshops at all spheres of government where they contributed to the development of SPs, APPs, and Annual Operational Plans (AOPs) for government departments and government entities. They have profound knowledge in the development of Integrated Development Plans (IDPs) and Service Delivery and Budget Implementation Plans (SDBIPs) for municipalities. 

In conclusion, the assignments they previously undertook entailed the development of Performance Management Policies and Frameworks for various organisations and have facilitated numerous training sessions on Performance Management. Some of the clients who benefited from their services include the National Gambling Board, South African Heritage Resource Agency, National Health Laboratory Services, Construction Industry Development Board, Limpopo Gambling Board, Amatola Water Board, Gauteng Gambling Board, Competition Tribunal, Makhado-Mussina Special Economic Zone, to mention but a few. Recently they have reviewed and developed the Strategic blueprint, reviewed Corporate and Business Plan, conducted Organisational Design and developed Monitoring and Reporting tools for the Industrial Development Company of Eswatini.
